REU Update

So far, I have heard back from Texas A&M and Hope College. Both programs have accepted me. I have no idea what I would be working on at Texas A&M, but the Hope project is definately one that appeals to me; the only programs that I am more interested in are USC and Harvey Mudd. Harvey Mudd told me I’d hear from them on monday, which gives me just enough time to get back to Hope in case I don’t get into Mudd. I’m really not certain when I’ll hear from USC, and their poor communication doesn’t reflect too well on their program. If Harvey Mudd accepts me, I will most assuredly spend my summer there. I’ll be in a small nerdy engineering college with an excellent reputation, working on a project that involves physics, computer science, and math, near the ocean and the mountains. I’ll be able to visit my siblings who live in/near LA, and experience life on the left coast for a summer.

Also, today I talked to some sophomore physics majors who asked me to live in their house next year, on account of one of them won’t be able to afford it. I’ve been in the house before and it’s not a bad place; close to campus and a hell of a deal. It should be a good year, as long as I don’t kill myself with the workload. 3 Majors could maybe do that to a person.
