You really ought to take the coastal road up at least part of the way. I'd take the 1 up through Morro Bay, hop on the 46 through wine country, sample some free wine, take the 101 up to Monterey, then take the coast highway the rest of the way into the city. Might as well get a taste of the rest of CA. 2) My roommates have Settlers of Catan. It's fun.
